Description

Hinode EIS Level1 HDF5 data are calibrated Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) spectroscopic observations obtained by the EUV Imaging Spectrometer (EIS) instrument onboard the Hinode solar observatory and stored in Hierarchical Data Format version 5 (HDF5). The Level1 products are generated from Level0 observations through standard calibration processing, including corrections for detector bias, dark current, cosmic-ray spikes, warm pixels, and instrumental effects. The HDF5 structure organizes calibrated spectroscopic image data, wavelength-window information, observation metadata, pointing information, and calibration-related parameters within a hierarchical data model designed for efficient scientific analysis and data access. EIS observes the solar transition region and corona in two EUV wavelength bands near 170–210 Å and 250–290 Å using slit and slot spectroscopic observations. Observation cadence, spatial coverage, exposure time, and raster configuration vary depending on the observing program.
