The MAGnetometers for Innovation and Capability (MAGIC) consists of two different instrument sensors. The TRACERS 2 spacecraft carries a sensor that uses a backwards compatible 1” ring-core suitable for use in current magnetometer designs. The TRACERS 1 spacecraft carries a new sensor design called the Tesseract that uses race-track geometry fluxgate cores. The 3-axis vector fluxgate magnetometer has a sampling rate of 128 samples/s in the region of interest (ROI) and 16 samples/s in the back orbit (BOR).
