STEREO SECCHI EUVI Wavelet-processed images

(2008). STEREO SECCHI EUVI Wavelet-processed images [Data set]. Goddard Space Flight Center.

ResourceID
spase://NASA/NumericalData/STEREO-A/SECCHI/Wavelets

Description

The EUVI images (all four wavelengths) are processed via a wavelet-based multi-scale algorithm to remove the zeroth order component (primarily stray light). The algorithm is tuned to enhance the off-limb emission in the images. The resulting images are stored as both FITS (using the original header) and PNGs and can be ingested by the SECCHI Solarsoft IDL routines for analysis

Description

The paper describes the algorithm and its application on the SOHO EIT images but the process is essential identical for the STEREO EUVI images: Stenborg, G., A. Vourlidas, and R.A.
