GOES-18 EXIS/XRS operational Level 2 one-second irradiance (flx1s) product distributed in daily NetCDF-4 files. The product provides irradiance in the XRS-A (0.05–0.4 nm) and XRS-B (0.1–0.8 nm) bands from individual low- and high-irradiance sensors, as well as primary-channel merged irradiance values for each band. The processing also includes quality/status flags, corrected quadrant currents, and spacecraft/instrument ancillary information. This operational stream is used for space-weather operations and is separate from the retrospectively reprocessed science-quality Level 2 series. NOAA warns that operational L1b and L2 data, particularly in early mission periods, may contain issues not retrospectively corrected and should not be used for scientific analysis; consult the XRS L2 ReadMe and User Guide for details.

One-second solar X-ray irradiance in the XRS-A band (0.05-0.4 nm), selected from the primary detector according to the xrsa_primary_chan indicator. This is the merged primary-channel irradiance.
One-second solar X-ray irradiance from the XRS-A1 low-irradiance high-sensitivity single photodiode.
One-second solar X-ray irradiance from the XRS-A2 high-irradiance lower-sensitivity quadrant photodiode.
Primary detector choice for XRS-A: 1 indicates detector A1, 2 indicates detector A2, and 255 indicates unknown. Refer to NetCDF flag_values and flag_meanings.
One-second solar X-ray irradiance in the XRS-B band (0.1-0.8 nm), selected from the primary detector according to the xrsb_primary_chan indicator. This is the merged primary-channel irradiance.
One-second solar X-ray irradiance from the XRS-B1 low-irradiance high-sensitivity single photodiode.
One-second solar X-ray irradiance from the XRS-B2 high-irradiance lower-sensitivity quadrant photodiode.
Primary detector choice for XRS-B: 1 indicates detector B1, 2 indicates detector B2, and 255 indicates unknown. Refer to NetCDF flag_values and flag_meanings.
Bit-field quality flags for xrsa_flux. Interpret flags using NetCDF flag_masks, flag_values, and flag_meanings; a value of 0 indicates good data.
